5-Day Workshop in Finland: March 22-26, 2017

Transform Your Life by Telling the Truth:
Radical Honesty workshop in Finland, led by RH Trainer in Training, Tuulia Syvanen
March 22-26, 2017

An intensive retreat in cabins surrounded by snow and a frozen lake
RADICAL HONESTY WINTER RETREAT IN FINLAND

We’ll spend five days and four nights together in lakeside cottages, surrounded by a lush pine forest, an ice-covered lake and lots of snow. The retreat will include daily workshop sessions, nightly saunas, playing in the snow and strolling on the lake under (hopefully) blue skies. This retreat is limited to 10 participants.

Our goals will be to live out loud, to be happy and to not give a shit! Radical Honesty is a way to create connections and to stay present to our experience and bodily sensations.

Forecast
In March, the usual weather conditions in the area call for temperatures between -5 and +5 Celsius, lots of snow on the ground and the surface of the lake to be frozen solid. At the same time, the days are often sunny; the sky clear blue. The combination of the snowy scenery and the warm sunshine can be amazing and quite enjoyable.

Content of the training:

On each day, we’ll do some yoga, meditation, and workshop sessions. The sessions will include an introduction to Radical Honesty; a deeper dive into RH; and learning through theory, discussions, sharing and exercises on how to be radically honest. We’ll do group and paired exercises as well as hot seat work.

Radical Honesty Denver 2-15 The goals of the workshop:
* Learning the difference between noticing and imagining
* Letting go of shame, fear and worry
* Sharing in a deep and meaningful way with compassion and forgiveness
* Being thoroughly and compassionately honest; getting more practice in being an honest being
* Asking for what you want and being prepared to get it; expanding your ability to give & receive
* Creating deeper love, connection & intimacy
* Creating relationships based on honesty and sharing
* Committing to completing the incomplete issues/relationships in your life

Leisure time
We will also have free time for connecting, relaxing, snow-castle building, snowball fighting, cross-country skiing, ice fishing and appreciating nature in its winter costume.

Language
The training will be conducted in English.
Finnish speakers will have the opportunity to do paired exercises together in Finnish.

Schedule
The retreat will begin on Wednesday 22 March at 16:00 and will conclude on Sunday 26 March by 13:00.

Price
The early bird price—available until 30 November 2016—is €380. The regular price thereafter is €420. The fee covers the workshop, healthy vegetarian or vegan meals/snacks, teaching, daily saunas and shared room accommodation.

Travel
To reach the retreat site from outside Finland, fly to Helsinki airport and then take a two-hour train ride to Tampere. Another option is to fly directly to Tampere airport (served by Ryanair, Finnair and Scandinavian Airlines).

Community
Participants will be asked to assist in the cooking, serving and cleaning up of meals/snacks as a way to help create a community during our five days together. This is commonly done in longer Radical Honesty workshops.

More on Radical Honesty:
RADICAL HONESTY LIVE- Workshops on How to Live, Love, Laugh & Be Happy & Completely Ruin Life as You Know It

pic2 - EditedRadical Honesty is direct communication that leads to intimacy. It is the difference between making a performance and laughing and playing with friends. Honesty is kind of scary fun that turns out better than you thought it would. Lying is work and a pain in the ass and makes you lonesome as hell.

Lying is the major source of all human stress. It wears us out and eventually kills us. When people engage honestly, energy that was wasted maintaining a performance to make an impression is suddenly available for real creativity in playing together. When we admit our pretenses we can refresh our relationships and powerfully create new ways of living together. That is the not so secret of Radical Honesty.

What We Do
In the words of Dr. Brad Blanton:
“The principles of Radical Honesty: How to Transform Your Life by Telling the Truth are presented in a planned experiential sequence. So the workshop gives you a series of learnings that stack atop each other. We call these plays… as in a playbook for a football game. They include lectures, directed conversations, paired exercises, small group exercises, Radical Honesty hot seat work, meditation and more. All this is geared toward having you learn and practice the distinction between noticing and thinking; the difference between interpreting and thinking about reality, and actually noticing it, through direct experience. Then you learn to share what you notice about the reality of your own experience with others, as the basis for true intimacy—learning to love ourselves and love other beings by learning to love Being, itself.”

About the Trainer
From Tuulia:
“I grew up in a dysfunctional family where expressing feelings of any kind (both negative and positive) was frowned upon. I became passionate about self-expression and self-awareness, and learned the importance of me setting my boundaries and of me speaking up. Most important, I learned the power of honesty, which I am now passionate about passing on to my son, to those around me and to those in my workshops. My life’s mission is to help create more love and connection between people through honest sharing and by expressing all feelings and without a need to change oneself or others.

“I’ve changed my life for the better by practicing Radical Honesty. I have more loving, honest and evolving relationships in my life (especially those with my son, my parents and my partner). I say what is important to me. I express my anger and my appreciation in the moment most of time. And though I still sometimes catch myself withholding, I try to be loving towards myself when I get it wrong. I don’t make others responsible for my own feelings (as I used to do). Best of all, I have learned to ask for what I want—and to my great joy, many times I even get it!”
