And do the presence process, a daily meditation and study practice over the first 10 weeks after you start to read the book, that will help you get your head out of your ass. Then keep using the book and doing the process and give the book away to other people, constantly.

(3) Read and give away The Great Turning, by David Korten, a brilliant analysis of progress being made to uncreate the stories we have lived by, and recreate the stories we can live by, and includes a devastating analysis of the failure and dead end future of previous stories we humans have lived by.

(4) EndGame, by Derrick Jensen, a brilliant writer who sees civilization itself as a fundamental mental illness and perversion of humankind, heartlessly depressing the hell out of you while at the same time inspiring you to action because he is so God damned right on. His clear analysis of the failure of civilization will leave you lost and cheerfully in despair like a drunken injured pitiful creature hit by a car and on it's last legs before dying yet staggering on carelessly, even ecstatically, toward the equally dangerous possibilities of dying and of painful healing looming in it's hopeless future.

What is in those books is what we use in a leadership training for change from the psyche up, and we think it could save humankind from destroying itself.

The Curse in Honesty Workshops

You could read and do the practices of these books and a few other books (and a bunch of movies and video we also can recommend) on your own, with no further help from us. But if you read and do the practices of these four books you will want to join up with other people who have struggled to remove their heads from their asses occasionally. We have a plan about how to use this alignment with each other to change the world. If you want to give it a shot and you want some help with it, we have a difficult, painful, psychologically and physically stressful, intellectually and emotionally challenging, joyful, heart rending, course in condemnation, forgiveness and renewal. You can take it in stages over the course of a year. The three week end workshop series is called The Curse in Honesty. The Curse in Honesty Workshop that Goes with the Unwash your Brain Six Pac Set of Books

We have a training program packaged into three, three day week ends. You do the first 3 day training and then, after you have read any or all of those books, if you want to do something about the downfall of humanity because of civilized lying you will have educated yourself to understand the framework that determines what is actually going on, from the personal to the political, that is killing the world. What is going on is we have all been framed to participate in the constant slaughter of innocents for profit. And now this is millennia old phenomenon has become a God damned emergency.

We recommend that you buy the books, read the first one, and decide if you want to enroll in the three week end course called the Curse of Honesty. The three week ends are spread out over the course of a year. You can read all these books without doing The Curse of Honesty Training, or in the context of our training with some extra coaching and homework using those books.

If you enroll in the one year program of the Center for Radical Honesty to take the three, three day courses on three week ends spread out over the year, we will use the books for homework, in the months between our three weekend meetings.

This is a training program in operational compassion. Conducted over three week ends, separated by several months in between so people can do homework, the course unfolds with powerful experiential and informational input. Participants can continue or opt out at each level of participation and can get benefit from each unit independent of continuing on with the program. If you do the first course and stay in for the next level, various reading and meditation assignments will be requested of you prior to attending the next training. There will be months between levels, and there will be ongoing coaching and mutual communication between and among participants and coaching from radical honesty trainers in charge of the program and capable of responding creatively to unanticipated opportunities and demands. Each three day week end workshop costs 500 dollars.

Level One

The three days and one evening in level one covers an introduction to the practices and processes of Radical Honesty. This is about experiencing your experience and getting capable and willing to face life from being centered in your present tense experience of being rather than your programming from the past. This quote about Leo Buscaglia describes step one in recovery, which as children many of us knew about love and healing. "Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, 'Nothing, I just helped him cry'". Though all three levels are concerned with personal healing and growth, this first is to open us up to caring for ourselves and each other.

The Level One workshop will be conducted two or three times in the first half of the year. This year, prior to the ides of March, we will have one instance of level one on the West Coast: Oakland in January on the 25th-27th (with an invite-your-friends follow-up on the night of the 28th); and one on the East Coast: Rowe Conference Center in Massachusetts on March 7th-9th). I will also be doing a modified version of level one in Sweden during the summer. We invite all graduates of level one and all graduates of previous Radical Honesty workshops to read the books and do the practices and come to the Level two workshop in September.

Levels Two and Three

For the focus and content overview of these workshops is structured by me and other radical honesty trainers, and the source content covered is in the books, but what happens in the workshops is co-created with the participants. We are working on instruction manuals for deep democracy and co-intelligent design based on honest sharing as a method of approach to fundamental problems. Levels two and three will be conducted one time each year, in the fourth quarter of the year. This year it is in Virginia at my place in September and November. After our level one in the spring of each year, we invite folks to the next level.

Next year and the year after we will have level One workshops conducted on the west coast, led by people there, with me serving primarily as an enroller and as a trainer's trainer, and we'll have the same set up on the East Coast, and another in Cleveland.

The Before and In Between Curricula

Before attending level one people will be asked to read the new revised edition of Radical Honesty and test the waters of telling the truth in their lives.

Between levels one and two participants will be asked to read The Presence Process by Michael Brown and to do the twice daily reading and meditation assignments outlined over the 10 week period as is suggested in that book. They will also be asked to read EndGame, volume one, by Derek Jensen, The Great Turning by David Korten, and the novel, The Truth Machine by James Halperin.

Between Levels two and three people will be asked to read Practicing Radical Honesty and to take the online course based on Part III of that book entitled Creating Your Own Destiny. They will also be asked to read The Tao of Democracy by Tom Atlee and The World Cafe by Juanita Brown and David Isaacson.
