Radical Honesty in Relationships: A 7-Day Retreat

Join us for a 7-day relationship retreat in idyllic Cascada Elysiana in Costa Rica, where you will be surrounded by the sounds of nature. Our eco retreat center has its own private waterfall and many others close by.

Each day starts with a delicious, healthy vegetarian breakfast and optional group yoga, followed by eye-opening workshops and personal coaching that will leave you with a whole new level of connection, authenticity, and intimacy.

Singles are welcome in this retreat which focuses on romantic relationships, getting clear on what we want, and how to stop sabotaging ourselves in cultivating the romantic relationships we want.

Price ranges from $1,700 to $2,900 depending on accommodations. All options include 3 meals/day and workshop sessions.

When?

Monday, March 10, 2025 at 6:00pm - Sunday, March 16, 2025 at 1:00pm

Where?

Cascada Elysiana, San José Province, Pérez Zeledón, Costa Rica

Investment?

The price includes accommodation, all retreat fees and three deliciously catered meals for 7 days of the retreat and varies between $1700 and $2900 depending on your choice of lodging. See lodging options below. Price does not include transport to and from the retreat center.

This workshop has seven days of exercises aimed at improving your ability to:

  • Recognize patterns of self-sabotage and disconnect that leave you in emotional or physical isolation.

  • Foster interdependence (as distinct from co-dependence and independence)

  • Appreciate and accept yourself and others for who you are, rather than who you think you / they SHOULD be

  • Heal the past and get over current hurts and struggles so you stop bringing them forward into future relationships.

  • Foster a growth mindset for yourself and within your romantic relationship(s)

  • Learn the delicate dance of contact and withdrawal by simply and clearly stating what is going on with you right now

This retreat is aimed at helping romantic partners redesign their relationships to focus on supporting each other in being their best selves, as defined by you.

If you are single, our goal is to give you the space to get clear on what you want in a relationship and heal any past wounds that may be holding you back.

Our aim is to help you re-contextualize your relationships around supporting one another in being who/how you want to be in a way that acknowledges and embraces the aspects of yourself that are not in alignment with that vision.

This workshop is absolutely LGBTQIA+ friendly,
for folks in any sort of relationship configuration, and for singles.

***This workshop may be an emotionally intense experience. We will spend a lot of our time focusing on remaining present in our bodies and present to our individual experiences; we will also spend time expressing and processing emotions, including sadness, resentment, and appreciation.***

Directions

The easiest way to get to Cascada Elysiana is by flying into San Jose's airport, Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), and taking a taxi to the retreat center, which is generally $100-150.

The retreat center is 3.5 hours from the airport, so we suggest trying to share a taxi with other workshop members if you can -- if you consent to it, we will create a google spreadsheet list of the workshop members' information so you can coordinate a shared taxi with someone.

We can provide you contact information of a trusted taxi company, or you can find your own transportation. Renting a car is not recommended as parking is limited. For potential group excursions, we will provide transportation offsite.

  • Exploration of a nearby reforestation project

  • Hiking through the spectacular rainforest

  • Visits to the private 190ft (58m) waterfall

  • Trips to local beaches and surfer towns

  • Excursions to nearby waterfalls and swimming holes

Who is leading the workshop?

Certified Trainer: Tony Shawcross

Radical Honesty has given me greater access to understanding my body, my subconscious mind, and my internal biases and filters than I ever had before.

As long as I can remember, I've had a passion for unbridled, authentic conversations and collaborative creative expression, and am grateful for how Radical Honesty has contributed to my work in film, music and writing.

Tony has been working closely with Brad Blanton and Radical Honesty since 2014. As a video producer, editor and writer, Tony has helped produce the Radical Honesty online workshops and videos, editing and compiling hundreds of hours of footage in ways that give him a unique level of familiarity with the work of Radical Honesty.

Tony leads a monthly meetup in Denver and has co-led many weekend workshops and introductions. In his coaching work, Tony specializes in couples, relationship and family coaching. You can see Tony’s Radical Parenting podcast in the Resources section of this site, also available online on major podcast outlets and on his local FM Radio Station, Denver Open Media.

Certified Trainer: Lindsay St. Antoine

I partner with folks who are ready and aspiring to get free and intimate through self revealing, who are eager to emerge as their bold, authentic selves and create a life of exhilarating self expression and deep realness.

I have a great capacity for being with and fully witnessing people in their shame, embarrassment, anger or darker emotions, and ushering in whatever naturally arises for them in those spaces.

Lindsay St. Antoine has been a certified Radical Honesty Trainer since 2017. She is dedicated to supporting those who are working to build honest, authentic, relationships and communities, and is especially interested in working with folks in the Queer community and couples in “alternative” relationships. She is passionate about empowering people to stick with themselves (and each other) in vulnerable and often uncomfortable spaces and coaching them through fully experiencing their whole experience, so that they may come to know themselves, and share themselves fully with others.

About the Venue: Cascada Elysiana

Mountain Hiking

The trails carved through our orchards and forests are quite beautiful. Most of them, such as our cacao orchard, are overgrown, giving them a primeval feel. This doesn't make for good cacao production, but does create a unique setting and the fruit that we're unable to use is great for the troop of White-Faced Monkeys that lives in the area.

Waterfalls & Pools

Cascada Elysiana Waterfall is simply stunning. She's temperamental, at times rushing and powerful, at times lazy and misty, depending on the rainfall filling the aqueducts that feed her. Whatever her mood, the setting is wonderful, seemingly artist-designed.

Relax & Meditate

We've designed Cascada Elysiana to be as tranquil and relaxing as possible. We don't allow automobiles (other than service vehicles) in the interior of the finca. All guest vehicles are parked at the entrance and the hike to the campground is about 6-8 minutes, enough to block almost all sounds from the road. Deeper into the finca, near the waterfall, you will never see a light nor hear a sound that isn't nature-made.
