Radical Honesty Institute is committed to creating and maintaining an environment that is as free from harassment as possible.
We do not tolerate harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of/by participants or staff (facilitators, Trainers, Trainer Candidates, students, or owners) in any form. Anyone violating these rules may be expelled from the event or series of events without a refund at the discretion of the organizers. Any staff in violation of these rules may face accountability action up to termination of professional relationship. We reserve the right to ban individuals who violate this policy from our events temporarily or permanently, depending on the severity of the incident. And, if indicated, we may involve local law enforcement and/or pursue criminal charges.
What does Harassment look like?
Harassment includes:
Taunting, deliberate intimidation, stalking, boundary-pushing, following, failing to respect someone’s no, unwelcome photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, and non-consensual physical touch.
Intimidation includes:
Making someone feel afraid, anxious, or powerless, often with the intent to influence their behavior, decisions, or actions. It involves using threats, aggression, or implied harm—whether physical, emotional, or social—to dominate or control someone.
Nonverbal harassment includes:
Distribution, display or discussion of any written or graphic material that ridicules, denigrates, insults, belittles, or shows hostility or aversion toward an individual or group.
Digital harassment Includes:
Sending, posting, or sharing negative, harmful, or false content anywhere people can view, participate in, or share content electronically.
Sexual harassment includes:
Any unwelcome sexual advance, request for sexual favors, or other unwanted verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. This includes but is not limited to suggestive comments, inappropriate jokes, unwanted physical contact (hugging, tickling, cornering), and sharing or displaying sexually explicit material.
Discrimination includes:
Unfair treatment on the basis of race, color, religion (including religious dress or grooming), national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, neurodivergence, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, military or veteran status.
Safe Spaces vs. Brave Spaces
Acknowledging that Radical Honesty events can be challenging, we clarify that our workshops are not conventional "safe spaces" but rather spaces for courageous, honest exploration. The container created at a Radical Honesty workshop is akin to a “brave space” where you’re invited to challenge yourself, open up and be honest in ways you maybe never have before, be vulnerable, and empower yourself to get out of your comfort zone to see what you might learn and experience there, while knowing that your “no’s” will be respected.
Feeling uncomfortable because you are growing and pushing your own edges is not the same as feeling unsafe because you’re being harassed or intimidated.
All facilitators (Trainers, TC’s, assistants) at Radical Honesty events (virtual and in-person) are trained in this policy and follow it, and will report any violations to RHI. This information is shared with all participants of our events. If you have any information about violations or suggestions for upgrades, you can Speak Up! here
